Spanish sayings – what’s done is done!

I like the saying “A lo hecho, pecho”.  It’s hard to translate it literally as it would come out as something like “To what is done, chest (or heart)” – which sounds rather meaningless.  Perhaps, “to what is done, I put my hand to my heart” makes it slightly clearer.

The nearest saying in English with a similar meaning is:  “What’s done is done”, but what this saying really means is that we should accept and stand by the consequences of our actions.
