Spanish – English translations. A casual meeting

I don’t know about you but the word “casual” always makes me thing of M and S slacks and the sorts of men’s clothes we could never get my father into, as he was a shirt and tie man to the end.  However, the Spanish word “casual” has an entirely different meaning – it means “chance” or “accidental” in the sense of coincidental or unplanned, out of blue, in fact.  So we “un encuentro casual” is a chance meeting and not one in which everyone was wearing a tracksuit.
